Parks

Horicon is home to eight different parks, offering everything from waterslides to golf. Both Discher Park and Kiwanis Park have pavilions that can be rented for events and gatherings.

Discher Park

Discher Park is a partially wooded 13 acre site located on the north side of the City. This park offers an Aquatic Center, playgrounds, sporting courts, athletic fields and picnic areas. The park has three distinct sections providing a good variety of recreational opportunities. The Aquatic Center opened in 1995 and occupies the western third of the park. The aquatic center provides such facilities as a zero-depth pool, a competitive lap pool, water slides, picnic and resting areas, a concession stand and a bathhouse. The central portion of the park contains a pavilion, concession buildings, new restroom with shelter and picnic areas with a playground and sporting courts. The eastern end of the park, where the athletic field is located, provides for baseball and football. The pavilion is available for rental.


River Bend Park

River Bend Park, the largest city-owned park, is located in the south central part of the city along the western shores of the Rock River. The northern end of the park provides active recreation with tennis courts, little league and softball fields. The rest of the park provides primarily open space areas, picnic and playground areas and boat launch facilities. A new nine-hole disc golf course has recently been created for use


      Clausen Bowling Green Park

This 4.5-acre neighborhood park is home to sheltered picnic areas nestled along the Rock River, canoe launching and a accessible fishing pier. The park is located between Barstow Street and East Lake Street.


Kiwanis Park

This open, grassy 4-acre site at the south end of Hubbard Street serves as a neighborhood park. The site has over 800 feet of frontage along the Rock River offering a public meeting facility, two accessible fishing platforms, community gardens, a picnic area, an open shelter and play equipment. The park hosts concerts and farm markets. The pavilion is available for rental.


Whitty Park

This two-acre neighborhood park is located along County Hwy E on the west side of Horicon.


 

Legion Auxiliary Park

This one-acre special purpose park is located along the Rock River about 1,000 feet upstream from the dam. The site primarily serves as a boat launch facility with a picnic area.


Osbourne Park

This three-acre site is located on County Hwy 28 at the corner of Raasch’s Hill Road. This special-purpose park serves primarily as a wayside stop and picnic area. The site contains a pond, a prairie garden, open area and hiking trail.


 

Rotary Park

This new 1.2-acre park is considered a neighborhood park for open space recreation and ice skating. It is located at Pheasant Lane and Robin Road.
