Additional Information

John Denver Tribute to benefit youth education
Marsh Haven Nature Center, a non-profit, volunteer-supported center located on the north end of the Horicon Marsh, will be hosting a special John Denver Celebration weekend September 30 - October 2. The music of the late John Denver is like an old friend, outlasting trends and standing the test of time. The event kicks off on Friday evening with acclaimed performer Jim Curry presenting a tribute to the music of one of the most beloved singer/songwriters ever to grace the stage. Tribute artist Jim Curry, whose voice was heard in the CBS-TV movie Take Me Home: The John Denver Story, has performed Denver’s music in sold out shows throughout the country and has emerged as today’s top performer of Denver’s vast legacy of multi-platinum hits.
Jim will be performing at Waupun’s Historic City Hall Auditorium on Friday, September 30 as a benefit for the youth programs at Marsh Haven Nature Center. Jim’s uncanny ability to mirror John’s voice and clean-cut look takes you back to the time when “Rocky Mountain High” “Sunshine” “Calypso” and “Annie’s Song” topped the charts, and his popular music had the heartfelt message of caring for the earth and caring for each other.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. concert are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets are on sale now at Marsh Haven Nature Center, by phone at (920) 318-9518, or visit www.marshhaven.com. Doors open at 6 p.m. for this general admission show with silent auction items available for bids throughout the concert.
The weekend continues at Marsh Haven Nature Center, W10145 Highway 49, just three miles east of Waupun with Saturday as a Day of Music and Memories. Gary Cross will present an outdoor Cowboy Campfire Concert at 1 p.m. on Saturday with lunch available for purchase at noon. At 7 p.m., there will be a John Denver Memories Concert by Gary Cross. Sunday is a Day of Education and Inspiration with an afternoon matinee concert at 1 p.m. by Will Kruger.  Limited seating tickets for the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon concerts are $8 each and both concerts will be held in Marsh Haven’s Respect Our Earth Theater.
The theme of the weekend is to celebrate the environmental stewardship, volunteerism, and love of nature that is the legacy of singer/songwriter John Denver through music, education, and community. Additional nature programs, films, and special events will take place.
All events will be held rain or shine. Special event admission to the nature center is $3 for the day or $5 for the weekend. Visit www.marshhaven.com for more information or call (920) 318-9518.
