Horicon, Wisc. – February 9, 2018 – Blue Zones Project®, Dodge County announced Van Brunt Elementary as the latest Blue Zones Project Approved™ school in Dodge County and the first in Horicon, reflecting its commitment to creating a healthier environment for their students.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, at 611 Mill St, Horicon.
Van Brunt Elementary led the way to greater well-being for students by incorporating Mind Up programming into the classroom as well as incorporating curriculum into the classroom that brings students closer to the food they consume.
"I am so proud of our students and staff for embracing the Blue Zones Project! It has been wonderful to see our students participate in mindfulness activities as well as taking initiative to research and share healthy living tips over morning announcements. I look forward to seeing this project continue to benefit our district," said Van Brunt principle, Lisa Sawyer.
