Rock River Archaeological Society Road Show
Rock River Archeological Society
Archaeology Road Show
On Wednesday, December 13th , the Rock River Archaeological Society will have their December meeting at 6:30 PM at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center, N7725 Hwy 28, Horicon, WI., lower level. The program for the evening is the annual “Road Show” where members and visitors are encouraged to bring in an interesting, strange, or unknown artifact to share with others. The “Road Show” is really a fun event and unlike a similarly named show on TV, this is not an appraisal, but a chance to show off and learn about interesting things we have hidden in our garages and attics. One at a time, participants come to the front of the room to show and talk about their item. If it is a mystery item to the owner, there is a good chance that someone in the audience can identify it.
At the end of the show there will be a drawing for prizes that one of the members has collected. Some lucky people will go home with a new item. Also there will be three very special items donated by the Don Gerke family and offered by Silent Auction.
After the “Road Show” there is delicious snack time for everyone to enjoy. All are welcome to bring something edible to share and stay to enjoy the festivities.
For more information about December 13th’s Road Show one can call Julie Flemming at 920-928-6094. There is no cost for attending the “Road Show.”
Bob Krueger of Juneau holds up many different mystery items at the 2016 Annual "Road Show".
