Marsh Haven Nature Center, a non-profit center located on the north end of the Horicon Marsh, three miles east of Waupun at W10145 Highway 49, has a special day planned to celebrate Earth Day 2017. Join them on Sunday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a fun and educational event.

Bring the kids to the family-friendly Monarchs & Milkweed program at 11 a.m. and stay to plant milkweed and sunflower seeds to help our butterflies and other pollinators. Bring a container (or one will be provided) and dig in the dirt for some springtime fun.

At 12:30 p.m., learn about, “What’s Happening to the Earth? What Can I Do about It?” presented by Archan Sramek in the Respect Our Earth theater.

At 1 p.m. there will be a guided Nest Box Trail hike, this easy hike will include frequent stops to monitor the 40+ nest boxes at Marsh Haven. We will record our discoveries and learn more about what birds are building nests and raising their young at the nature center.
Then at 2 p.m., a family movie will be shown in the Respect Our Earth theater. Several ongoing events are also planned for the day including make and take recycled crafts, making seed bombs, visits to the Critter Corner, hiking, and exploration of the indoor museum displays.

There is a $3 for adults, $2 for children admission fee for this special event, which includes all activities. Members are always free. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend Sunday, April 23 celebrating Earth Day at Marsh Haven Nature Center where nature is appreciated, conserved, and celebrated.
